1897 sapphire and diamond five stone banner ring in 18kt yellow gold. Set to the centre with a cushion shape mixed cut sapphire in a grain setting, flanked by two cushion shape Old Mine cut diamonds in grain settings, further enhanced by two round mixed cut sapphires in grain settings, to a sweeping diagonal design with a raised navette border set to top and bottom with swirling scrolls and recessed terminals at the shoulders before smoothing to a solid shank. Hallmarked 18kt gold, Birmingham, 1897.
