Essex crystal jewellery is celebrated for its remarkable three-dimensional optical effect, which gives the illusion of depth beneath the domed crystal, making the initials appear to float inside the stone. While most Essex crystals featured animal motifs, monogrammed pieces were far less common and made as bespoke custom commissions.
