Opal and diamond cluster ring

Antique cluster ring set with a large oval cabochon opal displaying soft play of colour, surrounded by a full halo of old cut diamonds. The opal is claw set in yellow gold with a scalloped diamond surround, typical of late Victorian to early Edwardian cluster design. The diamonds are well matched and add strong contrast and brilliance against the opal. A classic antique ring with presence on the hand.
