Why we are obsessed 

Etruscan Revival pendants trace their history to 19th-century Victorian fascination with archaeological excavations in Italy, the revival movement was ignited by the spectacular discovery of intact Etruscan tombs, notably the Regolini-Galassi tomb in 1836. These pieces were often used as a talisman because original ancient Etruscan pieces carried deep religious and apotropaic (evil-warding) significance, and Victorians embraced sentimental symbolism, and historic nostalgia. Italian goldsmith Fortunato Pio Castellani and his sons, Alessandro and Augusto, spearheaded the revival movement from their workshop in Rome.
