18kt White Gold Diamond and Rubellite Crossover Ring

A crossover ring in 18kt white gold set with a round brilliant cut diamond of 1.55ct, M colour, VVS2 clarity, and a round-cut rubellite of 2.20ct. The two stones are set in a bypass arrangement, the diamond claw-set above and the rubellite claw-set below, with the shank crossing over between them. Channels of baguette-cut diamonds run along the shoulders to either side of the central stones.

The crossover or bypass form, combined with baguette-set shoulders, is characteristic of mid-to-late twentieth century design. The rubellite displays a strong pinkish-red colour, providing a vivid contrast to the white diamond and white gold setting.

The ring weighs 8.47 grams and is currently sized K½.
