Antique Iberian Hessonite Garnet Set Catalan Earrings In Yellow Gold
A pair of antique Iberian Catalan earrings, each designed with an elaborate tiered drop form richly set throughout with hessonite garnets of various shapes, including oval, circular, and cushion cuts, all in closed-back settings. The articulated construction is finely detailed with applied wire and granulation work, typical of early 19th-century Iberian jewellery. Tests as 16–18kt yellow gold, with fittings for pierced ears added later. Circa 1830.
