A five stone diamond ring in 18kt yellow gold set with five old mine cut diamonds in a graduating line, estimated at 0.80ct total carat weight. The stones are graduated in size, the largest at centre, diminishing towards each end. The diamonds are claw-set in yellow gold throughout.
The five stone format is a well-established Victorian form, traditionally associated with betrothal. The old mine cut stones retain their original faceting, with the characteristic high crowns and rounded outlines of hand-cut diamonds of the period.
