Antique 9kt yellow gold 'keeper' ring. A solid gold ring featuring a double braided front, flanked by rubbed trumpeting shoulders which smooth to a solid shank. Hallmarked 9kt gold.
Keeper rings are thought to date back as early as the 1700s. Popularised in the Romantic era of the Victorian period, these rings were used as a pre-betrothal ring with the sentiment 'you're a keeper' in mind. Today these rings are much like the promise rings that are exchanged between lovers before an official engagement.
